The Chinese society has become an aged one and will remain so for a long period to come. The largest provincial branch of China Telecom – China Telecom Guangdong – has been dedicated to promoting the development of intelligent retirement properties for healthy living, establishing a strategic partnership with Department of Civil Affairs of Guangdong Province at the beginning of this year to create an elderly care service platform for Guangdong province, "You You Le Kang”, providing elders in the province with quality home-based elderly care services. Besides outsourcing the construction and operations of the provincial elderly care platform to China Telecom Guangdong, the Department of Civil Affairs of Guangdong Province also established an elderly care service chain made up of operators + application service providers + terminal operators + service institutions + government authorities + elders and their children, with home-based retirement services as its key focus. Together, they form a service ecosystem catered toward caring for the elderly.
